Karen directs the education and grant-making programs of the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation including the Tutoring Partnership for Academic Excellence. Prior to joining the Foundation staff, Karen ran and owned her own education consulting business, Intégral Consulting, Inc.  Karen’s professional experience includes higher education administration and leadership development, high school and college teaching, and private sector management. Karen currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Minority Education Partnership. She volunteers as a tutor in Everyday Math and reading.  Karen holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the College of St. Scholastica, a teaching license from Macalester College, and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin.  She lives in St. Paul with her husband and their two children who attend public schools.
